Down 6-0. World semifinals. Exactly two minutes left. “Go big or go home,” they say.
Sebass went big.
Sebastian Rivera (@sebastiannriveraa) got in deep on a double leg against Vazgen Tevanyan (ARM), elevated, picked him up, and raced to the edge of the mat where he unleashed this beautiful throw which gained him 4 points and kick-started a rally that culminated in a 10-9 win, a trip to the world finals, and a qualifying spot for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
It was, in multiple ways, huge.
This is also a fun look at how wrestling photography works, each of these frames taken in a fraction of a second, tracking the action as it travels across - and at times off - the mat.
